Rumors that surfaced a few weeks back hinted at September 12 as the chosen date for Apple’s upcoming major product announcement. Today, the company itself has validated these speculations.

Apple’s event on September 12 at 10 AM PT will mark the official introduction of the iPhone 15 series, comprising the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max (which might adopt the name iPhone 15 Ultra). As is customary, this event will be available for online streaming on apple.com and within the Apple TV app.

The chosen catchphrase by Apple for this event is “Wonderlust,” a clever twist on the term “wanderlust,” which signifies a strong urge to travel. In Apple’s context, it can be interpreted as “an intense desire to be amazed.” The element of leaving us intrigued appears to be a deliberate aspect of Apple’s strategy.

All four upcoming iPhone models will incorporate USB-C ports, following the recent EU regulation mandating their use. Rumors also suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro Max / Ultra might become the inaugural Apple device featuring a periscope zoom camera. The Pro variants are anticipated to showcase titanium frames, a departure from the previous stainless steel design. Additionally, the entire series will replace the traditional mute switch with a versatile “Action button,” while the Dynamic Island feature will be present across the board.

Apple might also take the opportunity to revamp its AirPods lineup, possibly integrating USB-C ports. The event is also anticipated to showcase the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
