Drishyam 3 Pre-Sale Mania: Mohanlal Thriller Locks ₹50 Crore+ Global Start

Spread the love

The highly anticipated Drishyam 3, headlined by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, is already creating a buzz by smashing pre-sale records both at home and abroad. With just days to go before its May 21 release, the Jeethu Joseph–directed sequel is on track for a record-breaking opening weekend.

Overseas Pre-Sales Smash Expectations

Industry trackers reveal that Drishyam 3 has raked in over $810K (around ₹7.77 crore) in international bookings. This early momentum places the film’s worldwide pre-sale tally north of ₹12 crore, even before paid premieres kick off on May 20. In Kerala, the movie’s ‘home turf’, ticket sales have already crossed ₹5 crore, signalling huge support from the Malayali audience.

Pan-India and Global Footprint

While Kerala is leading the charge, the Prithviraj-directed franchise is generating buzz in neighbouring markets like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Overseas, Gulf nations are expected to deliver strong returns, closely followed by the UK and North American circuits. Currently, distributors have locked in a ₹50 crore+ opening threshold—a figure that could topple the ₹67.78 crore record set by L2: Empuraan for the biggest global launch of a Malayalam film.

Star Cast & Release Details

Drishyam 3 reunites Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph for their fourth collaboration after Drishyam, Drishyam 2, and Neru. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas, the crime thriller also features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, and veteran actor Siddique. With its gripping premise and powerhouse performances, expectations are sky-high for this May 21 theatrical release.

Why Fans Can’t Wait

From nail-biting suspense to heart-tugging family drama, the Drishyam franchise has captivated audiences across languages. Bolstered by word-of-mouth from early screenings and a star-studded ensemble, Drishyam 3 is poised to deliver one of the most electrifying openings in Malayalam cinema history.
