Movie Review | Dream Girl 2 – A failed Attempt

#Plot: The plot of the movie starts with the traditional old story where a poor guy loves a girl and the girl’s father asks him to arrange some money, a house, and a job within 6 months. This plot we have seen since ages from “Maine Pyar Kiya” days. But what is new is the ways in which the boy tries to make money. The boy (#AyushmannKhurrana) decides to become a girl and plays various roles like a bar dancer and Wife of a rich boy and the whole movie revolves around this plot.

HOW IS THE MOVIE?

People had lots of expectations from the movie #DreamGirl2 but sadly the movie failed to live up to its expectations. The makers of the movie expected to encash the hype of watching Ayushman once again in the female getup but they forgot to provide a solid story and present tight content for the audience to engage for them for more than 2 hours.

This movie is a collection of random jokes and some of them will make you laugh. We noticed that the female audience laughed more and they will be able to enjoy the movie a bit more but largely who have watched the 2019 released first #DreamGirl will be hugely disappointed with this movie. These days even standup comics are doing better comedy, they create coherent jokes that are embedded in a good story but in Dram Girl 2, the jokes are isolated and many times without any coherence.

STAR CAST

The movie has some of the finest actors in the industry, it has always been a treat to watch actors like #VijayRaaz, #AnnuKapoor #PareshRawal, #RajpalYadav, #SeemaPahwa, #AbhishekBanerjee along with #AyushmannKhurrana. This much talent in a single movie but it has all been wasted. All of them are used in this movie just to crack some jokes.

FAILED EXPECTATIONS

Over the years people have started to expect a lot from Ayushman Khurrana as he has been doing the most diverse roles starting from the #VickyDonor. He has been doing with some social messages also. #DreamGirl2 had many opportunities to comment on issues like religious discrimination, issues of women, and LGBTQ issues. But the director of the movie #RaajShaandilyaa doesn’t dare to dig deep into any of these issues. One line is used in the entire movie for these issues, like for the women issues in one scene Ayushman says “Aurat banna jitna muskil hai, aurat hona us se bhi jyada muskil hai” and no further explanation was given describing why he is saying this. For LGBTQ issue there was just one line in the climax when Ayushman says “Pyaar, Pyaar hota hai”.

Even the female looks of Ayushman didn’t look as impressive as people were expecting. In women get up, #Govinda in #AuntyNo1 remains the best till date.
